Your account settings

Who this is for
Everyone who works in an eSamaHomes account. Anyone can look at this tab; only the account owner can change the security deposit setting.
Before you start
- Open Settings under Setup in the menu. The Account tab opens first.
- Your name and email come from the Google account you sign in with. eSamaHomes has no passwords and no profile to edit.
Steps
- Open Settings, then the Account tab.
- Under Profile, check your details. None of them can be changed here: - Full name: "Your display name across the portal". - Email address: "Used for login — managed via Google". - Role: Owner or Member. See Add your team.
- Under Account Mode, see whether the account is Landlord or Property Manager. It was set at signup: "Set at signup — contact support to change".
- If you are the account owner, choose under Security Deposits, "How do you keep security deposits?": - In a separate bank account, or - In the same account as rent, with a surety bond. It saves when you click, and "Security deposit setting saved" shows.
Example
Ana Rivera runs Rivera Rentals in Landlord mode and keeps deposits with rent under a surety bond. She opens the Account tab, sees Role Owner and Account mode Landlord, and picks In the same account as rent, with a surety bond. Her assistant, Leo, opens the same tab: he sees Role Member, and under Security Deposits "Only the account owner can change this."
What happens next
- The deposit setting decides whether a Security Deposit account must be its own bank or can be held in your rent account. See Security deposits.
- A different name or email shows here after it changes in your Google account and you sign in again.
If something looks wrong
- The account mode is wrong. It can't be changed in eSamaHomes. Email hello@esamahomes.com.
- You can't change the deposit setting. Only the account owner can. Ask an Owner on your team.
- You can't switch back to a separate bank account. It is refused while any security deposit account is held in a rent account. See Security deposits.
