Sign-in and security
For landlords, property managers · Last updated
Who this is for
Everyone who works in an eSamaHomes account and wants to know how sign-in is protected. Nothing on this tab can be changed in eSamaHomes.
Before you start
- You sign in with a Google account. eSamaHomes stores no password for you.
- Two-step verification, passkeys and lost-phone recovery are all set in your Google account, not in eSamaHomes.
Steps
- Open Settings, then the Security tab. The card is Authentication.
- Login method shows Google OAuth.
- To turn on two-step verification, click Manage in Google beside Two-factor authentication. Your Google account's security page opens in a new tab. Follow Google's steps there.
- Session duration shows 30 days: "Sessions expire after 30 days of inactivity".
Example
Chris Nguyen manages properties for Nguyen Homes. He opens the Security tab, clicks Manage in Google and turns on two-step verification for his Google account. The next time he signs in to eSamaHomes, Google asks for his code before letting him in.
What happens next
- Every sign-in goes through Google, so Google's two-step verification protects your eSamaHomes account too.
- If you don't use eSamaHomes for 30 days, you are signed out and sign in with Google again.
If something looks wrong
- You can't sign in. Check that you are using the same Google account you were invited with. Sign-in problems with the Google account itself are fixed in Google.
- Someone left your team. Remove them on the Team tab. See Add your team.
- You want a password instead of Google. eSamaHomes has no password sign-in.
